Michael R. Boyd, M.D. is the founder of Olympia Family Medicine. He has been in
practice with Olympia Family Medicine since 1978. He graduated from Medical College of Wisconsin in 1972. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He resides in Olympia with his wife Pamela, and has 3 grown children.


Stephen C. Albrecht, M.D. has been in practice with at Olympia Family Medicine since 1986. He graduated from University of Tennessee, Center for Health Sciences in 1981. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He resides in Olympia with his Wife Katherine. They have one grown son. Outside of the practice he is active in the Washington Academy of Family Physicians. He enjoys spending recreational time hiking in the mountains or riding his bicycle.


Laurence C. Schadt, M.D. (pronounced “shot”) continues his practice of family medicine having joined Olympia Family Medicine in 1991. He graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, School of Medicine in 1977 and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of California San Francisco affiliated Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, California in 1980. After practicing in California for 9 years, he moved his family to Olympia in 1989 where he joined Group Health Cooperative to work in their Urgent Care Center. He then joined Olympia Family Medicine in 1991 to practice family medicine full time. He resides in Olympia with his wife Gillian, and has 3 grown children.


Quoc Anh (Quinton) T. Nguyen, M.D. joined Olympia Family Medicine in September 2008. He graduated from Saba University School of Medicine, Netherland Antilles in 2004. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia in 2007. He has a professional interest in adult medicine, preventative care, dermatology, and minor office procedures. Dr. Nguyen is board eligible, bi-lingual being fluent in Vietnamese as well as English. He currently resides in Olympia and has called this place “home” since moving from his native country of Viet Nam to The United States in 1983. He spends his personal time traveling, golfing and follows the Seattle Seahawks.


Larisa Raastad, M.D., joined Olympia Family Medicine in September 2009. She completed medical school and her Fellowship at Vladivostok State Medical University, Vladivostok, Russia. She completed her Family Medicine training at the Providence St. Peter Family Medicine Residency in Olympia, Washington. Dr. Rastaad is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She resides in Olympia with her husband David, and has 2 grown children.


Shawna E. Adolphs, M.D., is an Internal Medicine Physician. She joined Olympia
Family Medicine in October 2009. Dr. Adolphs completed medical school at the
University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, MN. She completed her residency training at Providence Portland Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2009. Her practice focus is on chronic disease management such as diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, and young adult medicine. She resides in Olympia with her 3 year old daughter and husband Randy.


Dr. Virginia Cannon, M.D., is board certified in Internal Medicine. She completed medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed her Internal Medicine residency and a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She has been in practice in Olympia since 1989. In addition to practicing general Internal Medicine, Dr. Cannon also specializes in the evaluation and therapy of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases. She live in Olympia with her husband Lon.


Terry Rice, MSN, ARNP, has practiced as a Nurse Practioner with Olympia Family Medicine since 1998. She has been a registered nurse since 1975. She graduated from St. Martin University in Lacey, Washington in 1997 with a degree of Master of Science in Nursing. She received the Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner license through the State of Washington in 1998. She is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. As a Nurse Practitioner, she has received advanced education and clinical training in Family Health. Terry sees patients of all ages for both routine preventative care and acute illness. She resides in Olympia with her husband Rick, and has 2 grown children.


Dr. Maribeth Duffy, M.D. has recently joined Olympia Family and Internal Medicine on Olympia’s Westside. Her office is conveniently located in the physician’s pavilion on the Capital Medical Center campus.

Dr. Duffy, formerly of Providence Family Medicine, is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. She completed her Residency at Puget Sound Family Medicine in Bremerton, WA. She enjoyed three years in Japan serving the Military Tri-Services, before returning to the Pacific Northwest. She is board certified in Family Medicine and is a Fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Duffy has special interest in Women’s Health, Cardiac Risk Reduction and Diabetes prevention, as well as management of Asthma, Allergies, and Dermatologic conditions. Patient education plays a key role in the care that Dr. Duffy provides.
